Children are commonly characterized as hyperactive, hyper-focused, distracted, and suffering from clinical conditions such as ADHD, and LD, meaning ‘learning disabilities.’ Additionally, they may be described as ‘aggressive with low verbal skills,’ or ‘suffering from social anxiety.’

A century and a half ago, social engineers predicted this, believing a well-medicated populace integral to future Nirvana on earth. Whether you believe it, or dismiss it, consider it for a moment…

Perhaps 10% of America’s youth are now said to suffer from combinations of ADHD and LD. Increasingly, parents are diagnosing their children with attention or focus deficits.

What’s more, nearly 10% of the adult population is on antidepressants, diagnosed as ‘clinically depressed.’

If they believe themselves victims of depression, what excuses do they make for their children?

Now add another factor, parents who are AWOL, or MIA. Therefore children are raising themselves, learning their world view from peers.

My conclusion? The world is full of specialists. If one does not specialize, he is expected to bow before the well-lettered, trained, certified, and licensed expert. So, many parents have relegated child-rearing to the psychologists, psychiatrists, day-care technicians, and school-teachers.

What ever happened to parents taking FULL responsibility for the condition of their families? Children and their behavioral patterns are now the business of nearly everyone BUT the parents. And parents now having children, who were themselves raised in the ‘System’ don’t know any other way exists.

Insecurity is now rampant among children, because they are all born with the common-sense to know that Mommy and Daddy should be where the buck stops. Our children are desperately crying out for help. They want parents to step in decisively and guide them.

And just as a person contemplating suicide gives out a thousand hints before attempting it, so also our children stage daily demonstrations, until their knights in shining armor appear.

Meanwhile, they sound the alarm with overt displays of insecurity.

  1. Great post! I hope the end indicates that we will be hearing examples soon of what displays indicate insecurity in children. 😉
